Lanham, MD (Vocus) July 24, 2008 -- Vocus, Inc., (NASDAQ: VOCS) a leading provider of on-demand software for public relations management (http://www.vocus.com/content/publicrelations.asp), today announced that Killington Resort (http://www.killington.com), the largest ski and snowboard resort in eastern North America, uses Vocus' PR software to manage its public relations activities. With Vocus' fully-integrated PR software, Killington has been able to maximize its resources to create an effective PR program with significant results.
"Having used other PR management systems, we believe Vocus is far superior to its competitors," said Tom Horrocks, communications manager, Killington Resort. "With Vocus, we were able to put forth a plan that allowed Killington and many of our former sister resorts to utilize the system and maximize our pr and communication dollars. Now each resort uses Vocus either on their own or through a collaborative effort."
Horrocks continued, "Our investment in Vocus has paid great dividends to date. It has proven to be a great way to standardize our communications efforts and keep track of all of our activities."
Killington is the largest resort in the Northeast and is known for its diversity of terrain and network of lifts including three heated gondolas-delivering skiers and riders of all ability levels to groomed wide-open cruisers, classic narrow New England trails, moguls, steeps, and 16 tree skiing areas. The resort stretches across seven mountain areas and features access to 200 trails and 33 lifts with one lift ticket and offers numerous off-mountain winter activities and adventures. With a small public relations staff, coordinating and organizing each of the yearly events and activities can prove very challenging.
"With Vocus, we have one point of management for contacts, lists, activities and news, simplifying and streamlining our time and efforts into press release distribution, news analytics and contact management for a much more manageable and effective public relations program," said Horrocks.
Horrocks concluded, "Vocus is real simple and real effective!"
