New Travel Series DVD Explores China's Cities Just in Time for the Summer Olympics

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 2, 2008 -- With anticipation building for the start of the 2008 Summer Olympics, many are considering travelling to Beijing. But one must not forget the other cities hosting events during the games and the many delights and activities they offer visitors. To help them learn more about this dynamic country, Choices, Inc., is pleased to announce the release of "Beyond Beijing: Exploring China's Cities."

"I didn't want Beyond Beijing: Exploring China's Cities to be a typical travel show," said series producer Bill Einreinhofer. "Instead, my goal was to share stories the way you would with a friend. Stories that are sometimes funny, sometimes touching, but always unique."

The journey begins in Shanghai, a global capital of fashion and culture, then onwards to Qingdao which hosts sailing events. Qinhuangdao, host of preliminary soccer matches, is also a city with mythical ties to the Great Wall of China. The next stop is Tianjin where viewers will learn about the city's efforts to preserve its European architecture. After that, Shenyang, site of preliminary soccer matches and ancient buildings that rival the "Forbidden City". Finally, the tour ends in Hong Kong, host of equestrian events and a growing center of Western and Asian lifestyles.

"Chinese colleagues remarked on the "fresh" approach I was taking to what for them were well-known subjects," said three-time Emmy winner Einreinhofer. "I wanted to present images of China that Americans hadn't seen before, as well as insights into the country's varied culture and people. At the same time, I wanted the program to be fun. Because humor is an important aspect of Chinese life too!"

With over two hours of stunning photography and interviews with the many businesspeople, scholars, and artists who call the country home, Beyond Beijing: Exploring China's Cities will serve as a valuable guide for all travelers.

"Even the most seasoned traveler will learn a great deal about China from this informative series, said Erik Gudris, Sales and Marketing Director of Choices. "The unique stories and insider tips are what make this film stand out."

Beyond Beijing: Exploring China's Cities will be available on DVD July 8th, 2008. The DVD's Special Features will include a photo gallery and lesson plan/guidebook for educators.
